Bridal and Evening

Peacock Blue Raw Silk Duponi Bridesmaid's Dresses

Here are the Bridesmaids dresses I made for my own wedding this November. Trouwjurk Lange Mouw I really like teal/peacock blue, and I found this amazing Shot raw silk from the internet. It was a bit pricier than other fabrics I have used, but the finished article was well worth it! As each of my bridesmaids were very different shapes, I chose patterns with them that would suit them, so they would be able to wear them again as evening dresses.

Here are the final four dresses, which have developed form the pilot dress below. They were quite difficult to engineer, as the organza laddered very easily! However after purchasing an over locker, most of the problems were sorted. The three adults dresses are the same, prom style with ribbon sashes and pinned with hand made taffeta/organza rose corsages centred with diamentes (different from original corsage). Diamente bra straps compliment the roses (see pilot dress for close up picture). There is also a smaller organza rose at the bottom of the right strap. The child's dress is a princess cut dress with the same trimmings, but thicker straps. I also made some ribbon bows for the back of her dress, to make it a little different. It was a lovely day, congratulations to Mr and Mrs Thomas!

Gothic Maternity Wedding Dress

I was recently commissioned to make a bespoke wedding dress for a friend. She wanted an alternative/gothic style to the wedding, so we opted for her favorite colour of dark green for the dress. Cocktailjurken 2012 The dress consisted of 2 layers. The under-dress is dark green taffeta, shot with black. Over this, is an overlay dress of black floral chantilly lace. This gives an amazing textured effect over the green. To accomodate an expanding bump, an empire waist line was chosen, and a large box pleat was added to give extra volume and room in the front of the skirt. The lace over skirt was split at the same point under the bust, giving a regency feel. The square/scooped neckline, to flaunt her natural assets and to draw attention away from the tummy area. The wide straps also gave Korte Cocktailjurken extra support. A corset style lacing was added down the back of the dress, using a green ribbon to carry on the gothic theme, and to adjust, so that the dress would fit perfectly on the day! I also added a scattering of green butterflies from the hem of the dress toaround the knee, and I also sewd around 100 black sequins on to the lace over dress. These sequins were not meant to be seen until she walks - which gives a magical effect, but cant be seen on photos that well!
