Tips For Beach Wedding Dress Fabrics And Adornments

Since beaches don't have air conditioning, they tend to be hotter than indoors. You'll want to take care that the radiant bride doesn't become a hot, sweaty mess, but is instead, glowing, confident, and glorious. So heavy beading, heavy fabrics, and multiple layers of fabric are generally not advisable for a beach wedding dress. Instead, most beach brides look for lightweight fabrics such as organza, and where possible, natural fibers for outdoor destination wedding dresses. Natural fibers "breathe" and are cooler, including the traditional choices for quality and elegance, silk and linen.

BREAST CANCER AWARENESS

Male Breast Cancer: Limited Awareness Costs Lives, New Study Says

Men have a breast cancer incidence rate less than 1 percent of that of females, but when they do get the disease, it is often more advanced, according to a sweeping new study.

The research, published earlier this month in theJournal of Clinical Oncology, looked at breast cancer in 6 countries over the last 40 years. Researchers found that men had poorer five-year survival rates than women, and the disease generally occurred later in life for them.

Dr. Men get diagnosed at an older age in part because breast cancer development is related to hormonal exposure -- particularly estrogen -- which is virtually absent in men, thus delaying the disease's development.

But a bigger issue may simply be men's lack of knowledge about the disease. Indeed, the study found that when men and women Cocktailjurken 2012 caught cancer at the same stage, men actually had a better chance of survival than women.

This, experts say, underscores a need for increased awareness that men are at risk.

"We believe that men present later due to limited awareness of the disease, so that men who develop a breast lump delay seeing their doctor longer than a comparable woman would with similar symptoms," Hartman said. "The outcomes of men have improved over time, but not to the same extent as for women."

With breast cancer awareness month soon coming to a close, advocates are toiling to do exactly that.

Cathy Reid started the advocacy groupOut of the Shadow of Pinkwith her husband, Joe, in 2005 after he was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer. Joe died from the disease, but Cathy has continued her advocacy efforts.

In recent years, Reid -- who still gets emotional Korte Avondjurken when speaking about her husband -- has spearheaded a grassroots effort to give male breast cancer an official "slot" during the female-centered awareness month. She Eenvoudige Trouwjurken has pushed legislators and joined with other advocacy groups to get the third week in October dedicated to male breast cancer specifically.

Thus far, she has not been successful.

"There's a lot more information out there now than there was in 2005, but we still need more," Reid said. "I drive a truck with signs all over it that say 'male breast cancer awareness week.' I can't tell you how many times people stop and say, 'I didn't know' or 'I had no idea that was a possibility.'"

In the mid 1990s, Nancy Nick started theJohn W. Nick Foundationin honor of her father, who passed away at age 58 from male breast cancer. She created an alternative ribbon to the now ubiquitous pink one. Her version is both pink and blue.

"Being a woman and a daughter of a man who lost his battle to breast cancer, I have never understood why the female breast cancer foundations could not include a page about male breast cancer, and add blue to the ribbon," Nick told HuffPost.

Her group has designated November male breast cancer month, and it spends it trying to drum up more enthusiasm and funding. She thinks that allotting the third week in October to male breast cancer would be divisive, and would somehow diminish women's struggle with the disease.

"A lot of times, people say we're trying to take something away from women, and I'm like 'no, we're trying to save lives,'" she said. "Yes, the numbers are smaller, but most men are diagnosed at a much later stage."

According to the American Cancer Society's2011 statistics, about 2,140 new cases of breast cancer will be diagnosed among men by the end of the year, making it about 100 times less common among them than among women. But also in 2011, approximately 450 men will die from breast cancer.

Bridal and Evening

Peacock Blue Raw Silk Duponi Bridesmaid's Dresses

Here are the Bridesmaids dresses I made for my own wedding this November. Trouwjurk Lange Mouw I really like teal/peacock blue, and I found this amazing Shot raw silk from the internet. It was a bit pricier than other fabrics I have used, but the finished article was well worth it! As each of my bridesmaids were very different shapes, I chose patterns with them that would suit them, so they would be able to wear them again as evening dresses.

Here are the final four dresses, which have developed form the pilot dress below. They were quite difficult to engineer, as the organza laddered very easily! However after purchasing an over locker, most of the problems were sorted. The three adults dresses are the same, prom style with ribbon sashes and pinned with hand made taffeta/organza rose corsages centred with diamentes (different from original corsage). Diamente bra straps compliment the roses (see pilot dress for close up picture). There is also a smaller organza rose at the bottom of the right strap. The child's dress is a princess cut dress with the same trimmings, but thicker straps. I also made some ribbon bows for the back of her dress, to make it a little different. It was a lovely day, congratulations to Mr and Mrs Thomas!

Gothic Maternity Wedding Dress

I was recently commissioned to make a bespoke wedding dress for a friend. She wanted an alternative/gothic style to the wedding, so we opted for her favorite colour of dark green for the dress. Cocktailjurken 2012 The dress consisted of 2 layers. The under-dress is dark green taffeta, shot with black. Over this, is an overlay dress of black floral chantilly lace. This gives an amazing textured effect over the green. To accomodate an expanding bump, an empire waist line was chosen, and a large box pleat was added to give extra volume and room in the front of the skirt. The lace over skirt was split at the same point under the bust, giving a regency feel. The square/scooped neckline, to flaunt her natural assets and to draw attention away from the tummy area. The wide straps also gave Korte Cocktailjurken extra support. A corset style lacing was added down the back of the dress, using a green ribbon to carry on the gothic theme, and to adjust, so that the dress would fit perfectly on the day! I also added a scattering of green butterflies from the hem of the dress toaround the knee, and I also sewd around 100 black sequins on to the lace over dress. These sequins were not meant to be seen until she walks - which gives a magical effect, but cant be seen on photos that well!

Is it tacky to send a gift card as a wedding gift?

Now there a very good question. I think it depends who you Trouwjurk Lange Mouw are in relation to the bride and groom. It always much more sincere to get an actual gift from your friends and family. However if you really are trying to save up and want things for a new house for example then a gift voucher can be ideal. And a lot of couples are now asking for vouchers, cash or honeymoon funds instead of gifts, so a voucher could be a briliant idea. Given you are sending a belated gift you could think about what they want and if you don come up with somethingthey really need then send the voucher. Belinda

Wedding menus can to notoriously over-priced and often venues can get away with average food rather than fabulous food, which is really what you are paying for. That and the immense amount of planning and organisation that goes into getting 80+ plates of food out at once. You High Low Schoolfeest Jurken seen Ramsay Kitchen USA? I would just do your research. It worth paying the money if High Low Schoolfeest Jurken the service and food is second to none and get a reputable caterer who understands the wedding event and what expected and you will be happy that you did. There are plenty of things that will also be added on top, such as corkage. And many wedding venues won even offer a choice of caterer so if you want the venue you have to think of the food as a must-buy factor. The ideal is to pick an independent and have a choice of menu that you can tailor for youselves.

What quality criteria can I use to rate a caterers performance?

I would ask for references and get them to talk through every aspect of the service, including how they will be presented while serving, how they will stage the service given the amount of people and what tend to be the main issues arising from a wedding. How will they deal with it. After a frank and to the point conversation allowing them to tell you in detail what they will deliver I would have a note of everything you would like. Such as coffee, cocktails, serviettes etc. If you have a good caterer they will already have mentioned everything you can think off. The idea is to find a wedding caterer who will take the stress and worry away from you. Go with your instinct. If not check the references. Good luck.

Tips For Choosing The Ideal Jewelry To Match Your Wedding Dress

I think that the best place to start when making plans for your wedding is turn to your dreams. Let鎶?face it, we are women, and we've had a picture painted in our minds of how this day "should be" since we could pick buds and blooms from our mothers' rose bushes and pretend that we were brides. So we've had a pretty good idea of what we are looking for long before we actually set ourselves free in the endless sea of choices in styles, colors, themes, and even textures of the wedding world.

One of the first things that most brides will do is start to shop for their dress. Sometimes, as I did, you will find that the "Perfect Princess Dress" that you always thought you'd have, just doesn鎶?work for you. But this is absolutely fine, at least it will give you a place to start and you can take it from there. I would also suggest trying on

everything that even slightly tickles your fancy. You may be surprised at what you like and what you do not. The only reason that I mention this in an article on choosing your jewelry is because life will be much easier if you choose your dress prior to choosing your accessories, not the other way around.

First, take into consideration the cut of your dress. A sleeveless dress can carry a different shape of necklace and allow for more space on your chest for decoration. A halter-cut may be more appropriate for a very simple, single strand necklace or you may want to skip a necklace all together and focus on a pretty pair of earrings and a bracelet. Keep in mind that these are only suggestions and make decisions that will make you happy, it is your day after all!

Second, have a good look at the way that your dress is decorated. It could have a very large pattern that covers the entire dress with sequins and pearls form head to toe. Or, it could be very simple with the Korte Trouwjurk only accents being in the cuts of the fabric such as different layering of materials, gathers, or pleats. The overall style of the dress is a crucial detail to consider when choosing jewelry that will compliment your ensemble. If you do not take the style of your dress into consideration, you could end up with a result that looks awkward and takes away from the over-all look that you鎶砮 set out to accomplish.

With simpler dresses, I would suggest going with jewelry that is more elaborate such as the Swarovski Three Point Crystal Necklace (see link below). Necklaces with this much detail work well with dresses that don鎶?have much beadwork and really give the dress the classic statement that it deserves.

With dresses that have alot of detail, I would suggest jewelry that will follow the theme of decorations in the dress, but go with something that will not understate the dress. For a dress that has a lot of sequins and pearls over the entire bodice, the Swarovski Crystal and Single to Double Pearl Necklace (see link below) would be the perfect companion.

Make sure that all of your jewelry coordinates. You don鎶?have to buy a set, although it would A-lijn Avondjurken make your job of getting a classic look much easier and guarantee a flawless match. But if you decide to "mix and match" your jewelry, be sure that they have common elements, such as bruidsmeisjes jurken shapes, colors, styles or stones.

Finally, if you have a very unusual dress, such as a family heirloom and you are having trouble finding jewelry that matches, visit the Brilliant Wedding Jewelry website. They can match colors, sizes, and cuts of Swarovski pearls and crystals that will compliment your perfect dress.
